21th Annual Bike & Walk-A-Thon to be Held Saturday, June 6, 2009

20th Annual Golf Classic Held  Monday, September 29, 2008

Dear Friends,

We are amazed at the power of young people to transform an environment into a special place of caring and sharing.  We witnessed such a transformation at the milestone 20th Annual Bike and Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, June 7, 2008. This year’s theme was “Students Helping Students”.   After Senator Phil Haines performed the ribbon-cutting to kick off the event, an unprecedented number of young people and others biked and walked for Githens Center.

Thank you to the following who made this event an outstanding success:

Ø  NJ State Senator Phil Haines

Ø  Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts for participating in a bike workshop and riding in the Bike-a-Thon

Ø  Rancocas Valley Peer Leaders for volunteering and walking in the Walk-A-Thon

Ø  Burlington Township High School Cheer and Dance Team members for painting faces, volunteering at the event, and walking in the Walk-A-Thon

Ø  Bike and Walk-A-Thon Committee Members for all of their hard work

Ø  Other Volunteers

Ø  Participants

Ø  Sponsors

Ø  Donors

Ø  Staff Members

It was the hottest day of the year and more people than ever, 164, biked and walked to raise awareness about the struggles and triumphs of people with disabilities and their families.  We even had chair massages for all of the bikers and walkers to relax their muscles.  It was a great day of walking, biking, music, fun, food, and a spirit of giving.

We look forward to the 21st Annual Bike and Walk-A-Thon in 2009.  We hope you will join us

Best Regards,
